#OndoDecides

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Ondo State governor and candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as winner of Saturday’s governorship election. Dr. Mimiko polled total votes of 260,199 representing 41.65% of the total votes cast in the election. Breakdown of the results is available here.

New Helmsman at ICPC

Insecurity

  • 6 Russians and an Estonian were kidnapped during an attack on their ship.
  • Bomb blasts occurred in two different parts within Bauchi metropolis on Wednesday night damaging part of the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) building in Zango area and another building at Tudun Hausawa without any casualty recorded.

#Aluu4

13 persons including the 59-year-old traditional ruler of Aluu, Alhaji Hassan Welewa, were on Wednesday, the 17th arraigned before a Port Harcourt Magistrate Court, over their alleged role in the killing of the #Aluu4.

Newest Committee

Vice-President Namadi Sambo, on Friday, the 19th inaugurated a 19-man committee in Abuja to review the structure, operations and activities of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). The committee, which is chaired by him, will among other tasks “review the DICON Act to position it to effectively carry out its regulatory functions as well as ensure compliance with guidelines in the procurement of defence equipment.” The committee has 4 weeks to conclude its assignment.
